Unlike other firms, where people offer radiology solutions as a secondary earning option, ERS is a 100 percent dedicated teleradiology service provider, offering service 24/7
Vishal Goswami, Founder & Director
Over the last decade, the Indian healthcare sector has undergone a massive transformation thanks to technical evolution and constant R&D. The technological integration has resulted in the emergence of the telehealth sector, making healthcare services more accessible and swifter. In the past, it used to take days to get radiology reports. However, thanks to Teleradiology, the interpretation of radiological images today can be done remotely, with the overall process taking just a few minutes. While many organizations currently provide teleradiology services in India, one firm that stands out from the rest in terms of wide service portfolio, market penetration, and product quality is Elite Radiology Services.
Started by Vishal Goswami, Elite Radiology Services (ERS) is a Ahmedabad-based leading teleradiology service provider firm offering a comprehensive range of efficient and cost-effective teleradiology solutions, including CT scan, MRI, X-ray, PET CT, PET MRI, and so on, to hospitals, radiology centers, and multispecialty groups. The firm comprises a team of highly qualified radiologists with extensive domain expertise and experience that ensures quick, efficient, and reliable diagnostic services delivery to clients.
A Humble Beginning
A computer engineering graduate, Vishal started his career with one of the largest diagnostic centers in India, Gujarat Imaging Center. As an IT manager, his responsibilities include overseeing the operations across all the centers under the firm. However, there was hardly any industry exposure. Later he joined Bengaluru-based Meddiff Technologies. His 10-month tenure at the firm gave him a fair understanding of the overall industry operation. He decided to resign from his job and then did a thorough market study for two months before starting ERS. Initially, the firm started its operations with five centers after purchasing the software. Today, with a team of over 30 doctors as well as 58 centers, the firm has come a long way in terms of overall growth and market expansion. Unlike other firms, where people offer radiology solutions as a secondary earning option, ERS is a 100 percent dedicated teleradiology service provider, offering service 24/7
Utmost Focus on Data Security
The whole operation runs from ERS’s office premises. Each system at the client site is installed with software that, once uploaded by the client, sends the diagnosis images to the server. Once received, the team at ERS assigns the cases to their corresponding doctors based on the report type. The doctors evaluate the cases remotely and upload the reports that are then sent to the clients. To ensure data security, the images received are in encrypted DICOM format. Along with the encrypted images, doctors are also provided with a password for decryption with a validity period of around one hour. After evaluation, the doctors then upload the report on the server, which again gets stored in an encrypted format.
Offering Efficient Teleradiology Solutions 24/7
What makes ERS stand out from the rest is the firm’s focus on generating the best-quality report in minimum turnaround time. “With over seven years in the industry we cater to one of the largest client bases in India. Some of our esteemed clients include Jodhpur-based Mathura Das Mathur Hospital, Uttarakhand-based Hans Foundation Hospital, and many more. Unlike other organizations, where people offer radiology solutions as a secondary earning option, we are a 100 percent dedicated teleradiology service provider, offering service 24/7”, shares Vishal.
Even the doctors go through some of the stingiest evaluation procedures before being brought on board. Instead of blindly bringing them on board, ERS has a set of test scan cases, which are assigned to the doctors for evaluation. Doctors completing at least 70 percent of the test cases are then invited to come on board. “The primary expectation of clients from teleradiology is to get accurate reports on time without waiting much. Irrespective of the hour of the day, we offer accurate radiology reports in the proper format along with the doctor's signature within the minimum turnaround time. During the pandemic, while other firms used to deliver 5-10 CT scans, we used to deliver an astounding 6000-7000 reports daily, which says a lot about our infrastructure”, explains Vishal.
Future Roadmap
Today, ERS is present at the Pan-India level, offering services across the states except UP and Bihar. Coming to the future roadmap, the firm is currently working on venturing into the international market. "We are in talks with hospitals in Dubai and Bangladesh. This comes with its own set of challenges as each country has its protocols to follow and requires specific degrees from radiologists that differ from others. We are ready for the challenges and currently are searching for doctors with required degrees", Vishal signs off.
