In their official note, the State CDA has asked the DCA director general to inspect whether the pharmacy, Med Plus, through their multiple outlets in the state, is using the third-party manufacturing body based out of Uttarakhand.

In recent times, the local Adulteration Control Authority (DCA) officials confiscated and destroyed many mutual tons of spurious and counterfeit drugs from Uttar Pradesh that came from Uttarakhand to Telangana state. Therefore, people and pharma dealers are concerned over the adulterated and inferior quality drugs from that state.

Furthermore, the association also apprised the DG that the state drug purchasing public (patients) was doubtful whether the purpose of the special discount sales by Med Plus pharmacists concurred with the recommended retail prices fixed by the National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority (NPPA).

In addition to this, together with offering discounts on some drugs, Med Plus is doing more by selling their brands and very expensive ones, which are even higher than those prices fixed by the national drug price authority. Consequently, the people are not convinced that the NPPA is running without any government involvement and that it is working in the nation's best interests.

The society requested that the director general intervene in the scenario in which the company introduced big discounts for their customers to attract them away from competitors, such as Med Plus; this sale violates Drug Price Controlled Orderly by the drug price regulator.
