TE Connectivity (TE), a global leader in connectors and sensors, is assisting Bangalore Medical Services Trust (BMST) operations by contributing medical equipment to strengthen its blood bank infrastructure. Vishwanath S, managing director and general manager of TE India, emphasises the significance of selecting BMST as their CSR Partner. "During Covid, we collaborated with organisations to distribute life-saving equipment such as oxygen concentrators, ventilators, and surgical masks." We recognised a need and an opportunity to collaborate with the healthcare industry to benefit the community.

"We chose to support accessible and affordable healthcare for the community because of BMST's legacy of excellence, comprehensive healthcare initiatives, and blood donation drives," he added. The donated medical equipment includes two blood bank refrigerators, a consumables refrigerator, and two HLA lab centrifuges. The blood bank refrigerator is specifically designed to store and preserve blood products at optimal temperatures. Its advanced features, such as precise temperature control and ample storage capacity, ensure the safe storage of life-saving blood components, including red blood cells, platelets, and plasma. This equipment will significantly contribute to maintaining integrity and availability of blood products, enabling Blood Bank to serve patients in need.

The consumables refrigerator will play a vital role in storing temperature-sensitive consumables and reagents essential for various laboratory tests and procedures. Dr. Latha Jagannathan, medical director and managing trustee of Bangalore Medical Services Trust TE Connectivity, is not only supporting our cause, but is also interested in learning more about what we do. Their CSR volunteers have made frequent visits to our centre. The CSR financing from TE Connectivity for refrigerators and lab centrifuges will increase our ability to deliver blood banking and transplant testing services, benefiting over 45,000 patients each year. Thank you for your help, TE, and we hope to continue working together in the future.
