PM Modi to Introduce Medical Devices and Bulk Drug Facilities

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to launch five projects as part of the production linked incentive (PLI) scheme for medical devices and bulk drugs today, during Dhanvantari Jayanti and 9th Ayurveda Day celebrations. He is scheduled to open a Central Drugs Testing Laboratory in Gothapatna in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, during the event.

The Prime Minister will initiate, kick off, and set the cornerstone for various health sector projects totaling around Rs. Introduce health coverage to all senior citizens aged 70 years, commence phase II of the inaugural All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), with an event scheduled at AIIA, costing 12,850 crore.

The Prime Minister's Office (PMO) announced that he will introduce several projects to enhance the research and development (R&D) and testing facilities in the healthcare sector.

Five projects launching as part of the PLI scheme for medical devices and bulk drugs are the ones in Vapi, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Kakinada, and Nalagarh. The PMO stated that these units would produce high-quality medical devices like body implants and critical care equipment, as well as essential bulk drugs.

He is going to place the cornerstone of two Central Research Institutes in Yoga and Naturopathy at Khordha in Odisha, Raipur in Chhattisgarh. He will also inaugurate four Centres of Excellence at NIPER Ahmedabad, NIPER Hyderabad, NIPER Guwahati, and NIPER Mohali for various pharmaceutical purposes in different states of India.
