PM Launches ALRC for Pharma R&D Boost in India

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the Advanced Level Research Center (ALRC) under the Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC) to promote pharmaceutical research and development. This event marks the establishment of a new laboratory dedicated to promoting standards and research in the medical sector.

The Rs. 49 Cr ALRC project comprises modern infrastructure and facilities supporting high-quality research and training programs. This primary idea is to take Indian pharmaceuticals to a higher level in the global market, thereby contributing to the growth of the entire Indian pharmaceutical industry.

Drugs Controller General of India (DCGI) Dr. Rajeev Raghuvanshi and his IPC team were praised for their hard work and dedication to achieve the award. Members of the IPC group expressed their support and said that the Center will play an important role in elevating Indian medicine to the top of the world. With its ambition to strengthen standards and encourage innovation, IPC aims to propel the Indian pharmaceutical industry to new heights of success in the coming years.

The event was attended by Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya, Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare, Prof. SP Singh Baghel, Union Minister of Chemicals and Fertilizers, and Dr. Ministry of Family and Tribal Welfare. General V K Singh (Retd), Union Minister for Aviation, Transport and Railways, who were seen to be physically present at the IPC in Ghaziabad.

Speaking on the occasion, General V K Singh appreciated the completion of the IPC and stated that medicines are available in India. The launch of the ALRC is a testament to IPC's commitment to advancing research and development. "The ALRC will be a hub for new research, innovation and education in the areas of standard setting for pharmaceuticals, pharmaceuticals and other related areas," he added.

General Singh also visited the ALRC and encouraged IPC scientists to do groundbreaking work to address key issues and barriers in medical standardization. This will lay the foundation for providing safe and high-quality medicines at affordable prices in India
