Recently, an impactful one-day seminar on a capacity-building program for pharmacovigilance was held in Nashik, India. The seminar was jointly organized by the Indian Pharmacopoeia Commission (IPC) and the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO).
It convened industry leaders, regulatory authorities, and experts to deliberate on crucial aspects of pharmacovigilance and its pivotal role in ensuring public health safety.
The seminar's overarching theme, "Advancing Pharmacovigilance System in India for Patient Safety," underscored the nation's unwavering commitment to fostering a robust pharmacovigilance infrastructure.
The seminar was held under the distinguished patronage of Dr. Bharati Pravin Pawar, Union Minister of State for Health and Family Welfare & Tribal Affairs, Government of India. The event witnessed the participation of over 200 stakeholders, including representatives from pharmaceutical companies across Maharashtra and beyond.
Notably, more than 100 participants from member companies of the esteemed Indian Drug Manufacturers' Association (IDMA) underscored the industry's collective dedication to elevating standards and ensuring patient-centric healthcare delivery.
Throughout the day, a series of meticulously curated technical sessions delved into a myriad of critical topics, ranging from the evolution of the Pharmacovigilance Programme of India to cutting-edge discussions on vaccine safety, adverse drug reaction (ADR) reporting, and industry perspectives on pharmacovigilance.
The seminar facilitated a dynamic exchange of insights and best practices to fortify pharmacovigilance frameworks. Renowned experts, including industry stalwarts, regulatory authorities, and esteemed academicians, lent their expertise to enriching discussions, fostering a collaborative environment conducive to knowledge dissemination and capacity building.
