Orbis established the Green Vision Center (GVC) in Satara, Maharashtra, in collaboration with the PBMA's H V Desai Eye Hospital. The center's mission is to provide primary eye care and quality optical services to the communities in an environmentally responsible and sustainable manner. Green Vision Center is an innovative approach that transforms a vision centre by combining clean solar-powered electricity, energy-efficient electrical fixtures and appliances, and digital data management.
"Orbis and PBMA's H V Desai Eye Hospital's vision and efforts towards bringing eye health services within the communities' reach through affordable and quality eye care will go a long way in driving change and instilling the concept of sustainability among the citizens of Satara district," said Shabanam Gulab Mujawar, district education officer (Primary), Satara. "The over two-decade partnership between PBMA's H.V.
Desai Eye Hospital and Orbis has been instrumental in reaching out to communities and providing ophthalmic treatments," said Parvez Bilimoria, executive director of PBMA's H V Desai Eye Hospital. The Green Vision Centers, according to Derek Hodkey, president and CEO of Orbis International, "are the next step in propelling communities towards uninterrupted access to eye health services while contributing to the sustainable development goals."

The GVC has also been designed to address the long-drawn issue of data management.
They are deployed with digital data management software which enables better patient care and patient data management, improving continuity of care, and reducing the use of paper. Hence, better response and planning can be achieved by stakeholders and government due to the availability of real-time data.
