Technology advancements, such as continuous blood glucose monitoring (CGM), have made tracking and controlling blood sugar levels easier. This is much needed because access to robust data can help people optimize blood sugar control and reduce the risk of other health problems.

CGM can help people who need heart surgery by optimizing blood sugar levels before surgery. This may improve postoperative outcomes. These devices can significantly improve a person's HbA1c levels, increase the time spent in the optimal glucose range, and improve quality of life. This benefit is important because people with diabetes are two to four times more likely to develop heart disease than other people. In addition, approximately 30% of patients with type 2 diabetes had three or more diseases at the time of diagnosis.

Dr. Abbott is head of the Health Administration for Asia and India. Prashanth Subramanian said, "CGMs help people monitor blood glucose levels in real-time without the hassle and add-on of traditional blood sugar monitoring devices that require a finger prick. We share great and useful ideas, supported by a digital ecosystem that makes connecting with their doctors and caregivers easy. The tool also provides a unique metric: the time people spend on their blood sugar levels. Knowing this data will change lives, help people make better health decisions, and develop tools to manage their blood sugar.”

According to a recent ICMR-INDIAB study, the number has increased by 44% between 2019 and 2023, surpassing 101 million. A chronic disease like diabetes is difficult, but people can change their lifestyle, exercise regularly, eat well and maintain blood sugar levels. Check by checking

To show the impact of the device on the world, CGM, when using insulin in patients with type 2 diabetes, reduced diabetes attacks (51%) and hospitalizations (28%) significantly reduced activity and treatment. They can prevent other diseases, such as eye and kidney infections, but people with an IRR greater than 80% spend less time in the ICU.
