National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS) ‘Mental Health Santhe 2.0 sets new standards in mental health awareness. The event brought together individuals, organizations, and communities to address the pressing issues surrounding mental health in India.
The platform enabled collaboration, education, and advocacy, fostering increased knowledge about available services, reducing stigma, preventing suicides, and enhancing mental health literacy.
In this regard, NIMHANS noted that collaborating with prominent mental health organizations and community partners, the event witnessed the participation of key stakeholders, including Augmenta Health, Richmond Fellowship Society India, QPR Institute India, Nikisa Dementia Village and Alzheimer Hospital, IDARE, and many more.
Various departments within NIMHANS also played a crucial role in providing multiple mental health information and resources. The event featured 75 stalls offering valuable insights and resources, where attendees engaged in interactive activities and games designed to make learning about mental health engaging and enjoyable.
In addition, NIMHANS released Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials, including posters, brochures, and a specially crafted comic strip, to communicate crucial mental health information in accessible formats. As an integral part of the event, the top three entries from the Flash Mob contest showcased their performances, highlighting the theme ‘Mental Health as a Universal Human Right.’
Winners of the Flash Mob, poster-making contest, and Short Film contest were appreciated during the event, emphasizing the importance of mental health as a fundamental right for all.
