Pharmaceutical major Lupin is looking to step up its presence in India, with its hiring connected to new business divisions being launched. The firm is looking to onboard talent in digital health and medtech, along with consumer-facing diagnostics roles. It is also hiring data scientists and engineers across the board.
"All these roles are new requirements that mainly want a combination of medico and management skills. We have also come up with a new set of roles that are largely technical and are part-time," said Yashwant Mahadik, president - global human resources, Lupin. The corporation is mainly hiring from medtech, healthtech, and fintech companies.
"The pharma industry is very bullish on growth right now. We are focusing on ramping up for new-age roles like product development specialists, product design professionals, biotech experts, commercial product pricing skills, legal know-how in pharma," Mahadik told. The firm is currently running a pilot programme under which 12-15% of its workforce is being given the option to work from home. As of March last year, Lupin had more than 18,000 employees in India.
