IOL Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals Assigns Vikas Vij As CEO

Vikas Vij has been appointed as the new CEO of IOL Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals Limited (IOL), a leading manufacturer of pharmaceutical (APIs) and specialty chemicals, with effect from April 3, 2023. He succeeds Dr. Sanjay Chaturvedi. His role will be to lead IOL's portfolio enhancement and efficiencies, which will help the company grow in both domestic and international markets. Vikas Vij has a techno-commercial background with knowledge of active pharmaceutical ingredients, finished dosage forms (FDF), custom pharmaceutical services (CRAMS), specialty chemicals, and operations from previous leadership roles in the pharmaceutical value chain.

He previously worked as Cipla's senior vice president of API and Access Business Units. Throughout his 30-year career, he has held various positions at Ranbaxy, GVK Biosciences, Alembic Pharmaceuticals, Sun Pharma, and Apollo Hospitals. Vikas Gupta, joint managing director, IOL Chemicals and Pharmaceuticals, welcomed Vij to the team, saying that he brings tremendous capabilities for driving sales and scaling businesses in the pharmaceutical and specialty chemicals domains.
