The Indian Pediatric Association (IAP) has launched a pioneering program called 'IAP Ki Baat, Community Ke Saath' to engage the community actively and provide valuable information on child health. The first program was “Ki Baat Anemia, Ke Saath Community,” followed by other important programs like obesity, autism, down syndrome and thalassemia.

The goal is for everyone to have access to relevant information that significantly impacts children and their lives and contributes to society's overall well-being. Through this initiative, IAP aims to provide millions of people with reliable information on child care through various communication channels such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TV, radio, newspapers, developers and government social networks.

According to the National Family Health Survey (NFHS-5, 2019-2020), more than half of women of reproductive age (from 15 to 49 years) and about 67.1% of children from 6 to 59 months who suffer anemia India Causes of anemia include nutritional deficiencies (iron, folic acid, vitamin B12), chronic diseases such as malaria, genetic diseases and poor eating habits.

Iron deficiency anemia is the most common type and is often associated with low intake of iron-rich foods, poor iron absorption, and high blood pressure during pregnancy. In 2018, the government introduced the Anemia Mukt Bharat (AMB) strategy to reduce anemia among women, children and youth.

" Anemia is a major public health problem in India. This is a condition in which the oxygen-carrying capacity decreases due to the lack of red blood cells and hemoglobin in the bloodstream. This makes them miss more school and hinders their social development due to fatigue, weakness, decreased intelligence, and increased risk of disease and death. Addressing anemia in children requires a comprehensive approach that includes medical intervention, nutritional support, and parental education about the importance of early detection and management. By recognizing the diverse consequences of childhood anemia, comprehensive solutions can address this condition's immediate symptoms and long-term effects. The president of the IAP 2024, Dr. GV Basavaraja.
