Cytecare Hospitals, one of India's healthcare leaders, has launched a state-of-the-art Nephrology Institute in collaboration with Humanist Centre for Medicine (Humanist), a Bengaluru-based NGO that aims to bridge funding gaps for patients seeking medical treatment, to provide essential medical care and holistic treatment to individuals suffering from kidney failure or dysfunction. Dr. A. S. Arvind, the Institute's principal donor, was joined by other key donors such as Shalini and Sudhir Sethi, Naheed and Arif Vazirally, DN Prahlad, and the Siva and Royan Foundation.
Shalini Sethi, director of the Humanist Centre for Medicine, Dr Ferzaan Engineer, co-founder and chairman of Cytecare Hospitals, Suresh Ramu, co-founder and CEO of Cytecare Hospitals, and Dr Girish N S, senior consultant nephrologist, attended the event. "We are delighted to collaborate with Humanist on this important public health initiative," Ramu said. While Cytecare provided the institute with space as well as clinical and management support, Humanist, along with its donors, contributed funds to purchase the dialysis machines and the Reverse Osmosis water treatment plant.
The Humanist-Cytecare Institute will provide a variety of services aimed at providing individuals with kidney failure or severe kidney dysfunction with comprehensive care and treatment. These services are intended to address patients' medical needs as well as their overall well-being." Dr A S Arvind, the principal donor and a kidney transplant recipient himself, whose journey has spurred him to champion the cause of top-notch nephrological care. Shalini Sethi, director of the Humanist Centre for Medicine, said of the Institute's launch, "What distinguishes Cytecare's Nephrology Institute is its dual commitment to medical excellence and social responsibility."
The dialysis services provided are not only of the highest quality, but they are also affordable. We believe in equitable healthcare access, and our CSR organisation, Humanist, will step in to support the Institute's operational costs for those who are underprivileged."
