Biocon: 2nd Consecutive Year in S&P Global Sustainability Yearbook

Biocon has announced its inclusion in SandP's 2024 Sustainability Yearbook for the second consecutive year, based on SandP's 2023 Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA) of Biocon and Biocon Biologics Limited.

Sustainability is central to Biocon's business objectives, and the Group is committed to it. A progressive environmental, social and governance (ESG) strategy aligned with stakeholder expectations and business objectives. Biocon's SandP Global ESG score is 63 points, up from the previous score of 52, placing it among the top 10 biotech companies out of 300 companies evaluated.

The CSA score shows how a company compares to its peers and Dow Jones Sustainability Indices (DJSI) members. In this regard, Biocon, including Biocon Biologics, has been named a global sustainability leader in the Dow Jones Sustainability Emerging Markets Index for the third consecutive year. The index tracks the performance of 10% of the 800 emerging market companies in the SandP Global Broad Market Index that are leaders in their fields of sustainability. It is one of only two Indian biotech companies included in the index.

Biocon Biologics 2023 Another highlight for Biocon, including its SandP Global ESG score, was an environmental score of 69, above the industry average of 12. In the community, he scored 62 points above the average of 24 points. On the administrative and economic level, 62 points were achieved, above the average of 30 points.

This year, SandP's CSA covered 62 industries. Nine thousand four hundred companies, 174,000 documents, 16.5 million data points. To be included in the yearbook, companies must be in the top 15% of their industry and receive a SandP Global Sustainability Award in the top 30% of their profession.
