The All Indian Institute of Medical Sciences, Bhubaneswar, has added millets to the diets of its students and admitted patients in order to provide healthy and nutritious food to the students and indoor patients. Dr. Ashutosh Biswas, Executive Director, initiated the initiative to commemorate the auspicious occasion of "Utkal Dibasa" and the G20 Jan Bhagidari campaign. On the occasion, Dr. Ashutosh Biswas stated, "We are very excited to incorporate millets into the diets of our students and patients. We believe it will provide patients with the essential fibres they require to recover quickly.
We are committed to providing the best possible care to our patients, and this is one of many steps in that direction." Similarly, students will benefit from the ancient locally available food in terms of nutrients and minerals, which will help them maintain a healthy weight and immunity. AIIMS Bhubaneswar has planned a series of programmes for the month in response to the Prime Minister's call to make 'Jan Bhagidari' a strong component of India's G20 Presidency. As part of the noble campaign, AIIMS Bhubaneswar has introduced millets into the diets of students and patients on "Utkal Dibasa," a traditional Indian diet. A meeting was held in the OPD foyer to raise awareness about the health benefits of millets and to spread the message to the general public.
